Titagarh Wagons (CMP:rs.629)has bagged an order worth Rs 200 Crores for manufacturing of 900 wagons from a single customer in the private sector. The Company's order book as of June 30, 2008 had swelled up to a little over Rs 1000 Crores.
Titagarh Wagons have got the first bulk order from the Ministry of Defence in the Special Project division for Special Shelters and have also made a beginning by starting supplies of large hydraulic excavators of 5.5 cubic metre for mining applications.TWL has been awarded an order for manufacture of Field Shelters by the Ministry of Defence. The Order is valued at about Rs 32 Crores.
TWL requires land for expansion of Wagon manufacturing capacity and has identified land measuring 9.05 Acres adjacent to its existing unit at Titagarh. This will not only add to the capacity but also smoothen the flow of operations.
Titagarh Wagons Ltd has executed some of the significant orders from both the Indian Railways and private sector customers for Railway Wagons. The Company, with dispatch of two excavators, has executed in this month part of an order valued at about Rs 10 Crores for 3 Excavators (model H 95 with operating weight of about 95 M.T. and bucket size of 5.5 cubic meter) for use in iron ore and mining business of one of its customers. The third excavator is due to be delivered in August, 2008.5. In the month of June, 2008 TWL has formed a Joint Venture Company with the partners of Greysham & Co; for dedicated supply of Air Brakes and Slack Adjusters, critical components required for manufacture of Wagons by the Company with a total commitment of Rs 7.50 Crores envisaged.
