Thebullishtrends: Stocks gained in the opening trade but traders are not active in Monday's trading on the final day of the financial year. Trading is also dull on Monday due to investors are looking for last minute positoins. Financial and Real Estate company stocks were sold on profit taking and some investors are looking to take losses for tax purposes.
According to Observer a British News paper from the banking sector, Merrill Lynch could receive another infusion of capital from sovereign wealth funds. On the housing front as per the National Association of Realtors report the number of existing homes sold in November was essentially flat.
DOW has lost 64 points and closed at 13,301 points, NASDAQ lost 13 points and closed at 2,661 points and S&P lost jsut 5 points and closed at 1,472. Tuesday is a holiday for US Stock Markets on the eve of January 1st.
